Hi Class,
Carol here. I am majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies and am enjoying the program at Dominguez Hills. I chose this program because of the convenience of being able to take the classes in the evenings and weekends with my busy schedule as a working adult like many of us. I’m due to graduate by 2018.
These “gangster rolls,” of the sushi family, I love to consume. I enjoy them at a local restaurant, Saki House in Culver City, together with either a glass of wine or a little (not overdoing it) saki. The menu calls them “gangster rolls” which blends with the ambiance of the restaurant, chic and upbeat in their Japanese style.
A favorite dish I like to consume is Beef Rouladen, a German dish consisting of thin flank steak rolled with pickles, sometimes bacon and onions in the middle, seasoned with Dijon mustard, paprika, onion, and salt and pepper. There is a thick gravy that comes from cooking it for so long absorbing all the flavors of the spices and herbs. The meat is incredibly tender because it is thin steak that is rolled up and simmered for about an hour-delicious! I don’t consume it that often. It was introduced to me by my former in laws and I consume much less meat and fatty foods for health reasons; although there’s certainly nothing wrong with still enjoying it in moderation.
