The first time I was introduced to the Harry Potter series was by my sister, April. She is one of the biggest fans that I have ever known and I believe has read the entire series more than five times. I remember seeing her read the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone when we were younger and I was pretty amazed to see her finish in three days because the book had so many pages in. You have to understand I was barely going into Pre-K and I thought any book passed twenty pages was too long. She has everything from Harry Potter’s wand to high socks with the House of Gryffindor on them. I remember ever since I could read and write, she has been trying to get me to read the series and enjoy it as much as her. As usual I don’t pay attention to her and have brushed off ever trying to read the Harry Potter series. I used to think that Harry Potter was for the nerds and geeks. I would always tease my sister about it and then go off to play video games. I have never read or watched Harry Potter.
But as you can see, I’m now taking a college class surrounded around the Harry Potter universe. As you can surely imagine, my sister laughed so hard at me because now I’m required to read all Harry Potter books.
I’ve always had an interest in reading the books and watching the films because I’ve always wanted to know what was so amazing about it. Ever since I’ve been in the Harry Potter course, I have built so much respect for the series and I’ve gained so much knowledge to why the series is so addicting. I never thought I would say this but I’m honestly so ready to dive into this series that has in my life for so long with my Ravenclaw house members!
