Growing up, I didn’t really read much. I didn’t even read Harry Potter, but I did end up watching the films as they came out every year. I remember also having the “game boy color” in 2001, a green colored, portable, game boy color. I bought the second installment, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” for GBC, and then I played the game as much as I could. I learned spells like “Flipendo” and “Incendio”, and followed the plot of this story. Although it was a very basic way of following the storyline of the COS, I still enjoyed the game itself. I remember seeing the Harry Potter books on the shelves of my school libraries, but I never had the courage to pick them up and read them. I regret not reading the series growing up, but at least I can read them now as an adult.
Becoming a Literature major in college has opened up my appreciation for reading writing. I think that when I saw this class, I thought I could take it to open up my appreciation for Harry Potter more. I believe in the power of Literature and how it can change lives for the better, it has done so for me. I believe that Harry Potter will change my life for the better. Perhaps I will learn a thing or two about Ollivanders’ or more about Professor Snape, who I always saw as a villain: the possibilities are endless!
I have also taken my Pottermore quiz, and I was sorted into Hufflepuff! I would like to know more about my house and why I am a good fit for this house as well. I believe that the world of Harry Potter could open up a new window of perspective to how I see things in the real world. Cheers to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
