An Ordinary Person

63414962_a74370e591My name is Myint and I am from Burma. It is a small country in Southeast Asia surrounded by Thailand in the East, China in the North, and India in the West. I came from a middle class family. We are devout Buddhists. When I finished high school, I wanted to go to Engineering College but my parents did not approve. In my culture we have to listen to parents and elders in the family.  Instead, I went to take Business at the College. I came to the United States ten years ago. I worked at Macy’s Department Store as a sales associate for a couple of years. In 2007 I got a cashier job at the West L.A College Bookstore. I went back to school preparing to become an accountant. My favorite subjects are math and accounting. I love movies and gardening and my hobbies are sewing cooking and watching food network every week. I don’t like cats and dogs as pets in the house. Yet I don’t hate them. I like vegetarian food and try to eat less meat as much as I can. I am a dummy when it comes to twitting and blogging. I am still having hard time whenever I log on to blog. My instructor has helped me a lot, but when I am by myself on the computer I cannot find what I am looking for. My most memorable time was when I went to the citizenship swearing in ceremony at the Convention Center in downtown.
